Bio: Teddy joined the River Legacy Living Science Center staff in 2010 with the desire to help shape today's students into the environmental stewards of tomorrow. She believes that the power of hands-on environmental education experiences can truly make a difference in the preservation of the Trinity River watershed.
Teddy is River Legacy's Coordinator in the implementation of a new GREEN program and the Earth Force Process for Arlington Independent School District's 7th graders. In partnership with Arlington's General Motors operation and the School District, Teddy has delved deep into this exciting environmental education and community service-learning curriculum. With her guidance, River Legacy is extending its reach into the city's junior high schools and building on the foundation laid by the environmental education programs in the District's younger grades.
With an eye to community investment in youth learning, she has developed curricula for summer classes for 7th & 8th graders with a unique partnership with the Texas Rangers and a Boy Scout nature badge program. And, working with 4th graders in the Arlington Independent School District, she guides their learning through field investigations to learn about our delicate ecosystem, how youth fit in, how to protect it, and why it is so important to do so.
