Cindy Tishue

Bio: Cindy Tishue is the middle school Science teacher and seventh grade Language Arts teacher at Discovery School in Mansfield, Ohio. A longtime advocate of education, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in middle school education from OSU in 2004 and her Masters of Education degree in 2006 (also from OSU), with areas of concentration in mathematics, science, and reading/language arts for grades four through nine.

She has been with Discovery School since 2007. Miss Tishue also completed coursework and holds a generalist certificate for social studies. Miss Tishue's credentials grant her Highly Qualified Teacher status according to the Ohio Department of Education rubric. Miss Tishue's teaching experience includes a long-term substitute position in Mansfield City Schools and one year at a public charter school in Columbus. Miss Tishue comes to Discovery School with a passion for teaching at the middle school level. Her professional goals include continuing to design interdisciplinary units that engage students in inquiry-based science experiences and service learning opportunities in the Mansfield area.
